The games interface is plain and simple, with a nice tab layout keeping everything in plain sight through the games modes, with features between races that help you keep well informed about the seasons events prooving very useful, both to new comers (like me) and hardcore fans alike.
There is a great emails tab that informs you of job offers for other driving teams, race statistics, driving conditions and general chatter from your team, great for tracking your overall performace throughout the game.
The game also features a simple to use quick setup, great for people like me who don’t want to dive into the overly technical stuff if you don’t want to. This allows you to use a simple slider to increase or decrese down force on the car, which helps adjust your overall speed and handling which you can change at the start of each race and qualifying lap.
Of course finishing a race gives you a good run down of where you are standing in the season, naturally I’m in 1st, but I was playing the game on a mixture of easy and normal as I’m bit of an F1 noob.
The game also has support for Steam Achivements, which you can see in the upper right corner, great for squeezing a few extra challanges out of your game and extending re-play should you be interested in unlocking such things.
As with most Codemasters racers, the loading screen features a selection of random statistics to keep you ammused, such as your longest time with the wheels locked up, most G’s pulled through a corner, wins, losses and maximum number of laps completed while keeping in 1st place.
