F1 2015 PC Requirements Revealed

There have been quite a few delays and postponed release dates from Codemasters new racing game, F1 2015. The last two possible release dates revealed were the 21st of July and 10th of July. It looks like the last one, the 10th, could stick as the system requirements for the PC version have been published. That points towards a finished game where the devs know what they’re dealing with.

The specs are a little bit surprising as you’ll need a pretty decent CPU for it while the GPU requirements are more mid-level. You’ll need at least a quad-core CPU, either a Core 2 or newer or a Phenom II X4 and at least 4GB RAM. The minimum graphics card is either an HD5770 or a GTS450. If you want to play at recommended specs you’ll need a Core i7-4770 or FX 9370 CPU, 8GB RAM, and an R290 or GTX970 graphics card.

You’ll also need 20GB storage space and an internet connection to play it. It runs purely on DX11 from the looks of it and also requires your operating system to be a 64bit Windows 7 or newer.

Minimum System Requirements:

  • OS: Windows 7 64 bit or Windows 8 64 bit
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad @ 3.0GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 @ 3.2GHz
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Intel 4th Gen Iris Graphics or AMD HD5770 or NVIDIA GTS450
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Hard Drive: 20 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible soundcard

Recommended System Requirements:

  • OS: Windows 7 64 bit or Windows 8 64 bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i7 4770 or AMD FX 9370
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Intel 5th Gen Iris Pro or AMD R9 290 or Nvidia GTX970
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Hard Drive: 20 GB available space
  • Sound Card: Direct X compatible soundcard

It might also be worth mentioning that Steam currently runs with a 10% discount on the game in anticipation of the launch. Other online vendors are also running offers, so browser around before you purchase.
