NZXT F120 RGB Core Triple Pack Fans + Controller Review

A Closer Look

The fan design looks great, and there are a few details such as the material finishes and even the shape of the fan blades that give them an aesthetic that matches up with the rest of the RGB product range. That’s obviously important as if you’re using their coolers, motherboards and other hardware, you’re obviously going to want them to match up with your existing hardware.

The outer frame of the fans is a durable plastic and features thick rubber anti-vibration pads on all four corners that pass through to both sides, so vibrations are dampened regardless of the fan orientation.

There’s a lot of material trimmed off the corners to save on weight, but overall it gives the fan a more pleasing aesthetic with lots of sweeping curves and angles on all sides.

Around the back, you can see there are four braces for mounting the mother, and all the cables connecting to the fans are finished in white to match the colour option.

Of course, the black fans have broadly the same design, albeit the anti-vibration pads and cables are now black to match the black frame. The only thing that is obviously the same is the fan blades, which are still that milky white plastic, which will allow the built-in LEDs to shine through it.

The RGB control hub is black on both kits, but this is designed to be hidden out of sight. It supports up to three fans and requires a single SATA for power and a USB 2 motherboard header for control. The fans are all PWM and require a connection to your motherboard or a compatible hub of your own.
