How Much Does it Cost?
The NZXT F120 RGB Core Triple Pack Fans + Controller are available now from Amazon, with the white fans currently priced at £82.72 and £84.78 for the black version. However, the MSRP is actually £79.99, so it’s worth shopping around for a good deal.
Overview
NZXT has a long history of great-looking PC hardware, and their F120 RGB Core fans are a welcome addition to their lineup. If you already have an NZXT case, motherboard, cooler, power supply, peripherals or any of the other products they have these days, the matching aesthetic of the F120 fans is certainly going to appeal. Plus, since pretty much all NZXT hardware is either black or white, it’s not hard to find a colour match here either.
Admittedly, these are just nice-looking fans regardless of the brand, so if you wanted to stick them in your Thermaltake, Antec or any other brand of case, I’m sure they’ll look great there too, and with the inclusion of the RGB control hub, you don’t even need a motherboard with RGB headers to be able to take control of them. I tested them with my own RGB controller too (a generic desktop one from Amazon) and was able to apply custom effects without software, so you can use them however you like really.
The performance is surprisingly decent, by which I mean, these are a more affordable model, but they still delivered great performance. The airflow at 50% PWM was very impressive and still resulted in some low acoustics, never topping 36 dBa at 50% load, which would make them ideal for a gaming PC or for adding to a radiator. They were noticeably noisy at 100% PWM but honestly, the airflow was good enough at lower RPM and noise levels, that it’s unlikely you’ll need to push them to their limits anyway.
Should I Buy Them?
Premium fans are expensive, but the core trims back on the RGB hardware a touch to keep the price more affordable compared to the flagship NZXT fans, the F120 Duos. You get three premium-branded fans, that look great, and deliver big airflow, even at lower RPM, as well as a competent control hub that allows you to easily take command of the RGB effects.
