Facebook Looking at Video Ads During Live TV

Facebook has moved from a site where you posted pictures and text about your life and your friends to somewhere celebrities and the world can share their moments on live TV. Now Facebook is looking at a way of adding a little bit of revenue to live TV with short videos.

With ads coming up all over the internet, it’s not surprising that Facebook is now looking at ways of getting a little bit of cash from their videos. With little to no information about how the changes will come out, the most we do know is that the videos can appear anything after five minutes into a stream and will only last for up to 15 seconds.

The ads will be limited to a “small group of publishers”, with the ads shown during live broadcasts. Facebook is looking at giving publishers the ability to control and advertise their streams, with the ability to turn off adverts during videos which may not be suited to the topic at hand, such as during a sensitive breaking story.

With no idea about if the videos will occur during set intervals, such as online commercial breaks or if they will happen at particular points into your viewing.
