Conclusion
As we’ve already said, faceVsion aren’t the most recognized manufacturer on the market, and being frank, we hadn’t heard much about them at all, but we can now, fully assure you that you will all know who they are in the future.
We say this, due to the results that we got from it with crystal clear sound, and the claims of 720p HD video living up to its name to a certain degree. By us taking screenshots of exactly how the quality looks, you can see for yourself that the images on screen really come to life with this webcam when compared to lesser specced webcams; albeit the captures weren’t as clear as we hoped. When looking at a Skype video call however, the frame rate is unbelievably clear with clear movement and no juddering.
Soundwise, you can really notice where the unidirectional dual microphones come into play with a clear, crisp sound that can be heard by even your oldest relatives.
A lot of people may think that the £70-£80 price bracket may be a bit too much, but when comparing this to some evenly specced competitors, it seems that the Touchcam N1 actually comes up as one of the best when you look at price/performance. With this also being the first Skype certified HD webcam and it’s built in H.264 encoder chip, it has the stance that should put this webcam on the top of the market for quite some time in the near future.
