War… War never changes. So begins the now legendary opening lines from every Fallout game. Well, we at eTeknix are not so philosophical about such things, but we do know a good thing when we see it.
Once such good thing is that Fallout 4 is available to play for free this weekend on Steam!
In fairness, it’s likely you may have already played this before, perhaps not. However, maybe you only played this on a console and never got to see it in all its PC glory.
Set in the post-nuclear holocaust world, Fallout 4 is certainly unique in that for the first time ever, we got to see things before they went so badly wrong.
On high-end systems, Fallout 4 is a remarkably good looking game. Admittedly, it’s not my favourite in the series. I found that the game detracted from the exploration aspects that the previous titles not only encouraged, but rewarded. That being said, it is free for the weekend so you shouldn’t grumble.
If you do like the game from your free trial, it is currently on sale so a more permanent experience is easily made.
All you need is a Steam account, that’s it. From there if you visit the store page you can download your free weekend copy.
