Fallout 4 has received plenty of mods since it was released last year, and many of these mods were designed by regular players. Some of them focused on altering the game’s graphics while others focused more on tweaking gameplay or performance, but users usually had to activate multiple mods at the same time in order to see truly significant changes. Just in case you’re not already aware, Fallout 4 is a Nvidia Gameworks title, which means that it supports the company’s advanced shadow and lighting effects. That’s why this mod that’s currently being developed by Nvidia will fit this game like a glove, and judging by a recently released trailer, it might actually be pretty good.
Dubbed Vault 1080, this mod is obviously a marketing move that aims to promote the GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card. However, since it promises to deliver one hour of additional gameplay, it will definitely be worth installing just for the new content. The lighting effects highlighted in the short gameplay trailer definitely look impressive, but we’ll just have to wait and see if they will impact performance in a significant way. Still, Fallout 4 was never the most demanding game in the world, so there’s a good chance that this mod will be playable even on less powerful rigs.
