Fallout 4’s Dogmeat Won Best Game Dog Award

The only other dog that came remotely close to being as famous as Dogmeat from Fallout 4 would be Riley from Call of Duty: Ghosts, but I’m not sure if Riley actually won any awards for its performance. Dogmeat, however, was crowned “Top Videogame Dog” at the World Dog Awards – a serious event that is sponsored by Iams and The CW network. To be fair, the title in question actually went to a real dog named River, who served as a source of inspiration for Dogmeat. Even though Fallout 4‘s developers could have made this companion a bit more practical by teaching him how to actually go to the nearest camp and sell the junk that it’s been collecting, it was still a pretty good companion to have.
Some of you might argue that D-Dog from Metal Gear Solid V was a much better companion, but I guess that’s just a matter of personal opinion in the end, especially since the two games don’t have too many things in common. Even though Dogmeat earned his golden hydrant back in January, Bethesda has decided to share the news with us just now, which is a bit odd. Below you will find the actual Tweet that helped spread the word.
