Chris Avellone is a legend within the gaming industry. There are very few people who have better credentials, particularly in the RPG gaming market than him. Since 1997 he has worked on some of the biggest titles out there.
Here’s a brief list, just to give you an idea:
In addition to all of the above, he also worked on the original canceled Fallout 3 game: Van Buren and is also working on the upcoming re-boot of System Shock.
So, as you can clearly see, the man knows his RPG gaming and as such, his Facebook feed is often heavily monitored. He recently posted an image which showed the vault boy in various poses which came to our attention via PCGames. At an initial review, the community largely just saw this as a tribute given Fallout’s 20th birthday.
The following post made by Chris, however, revealed just how deep the rabbit hole could be.
A few days after the initial post, Christ changed his profile picture to the above. It shows the Pip-Boy being hugged by a person who declared they had missed him.
For Chris Avellon to post this can likely only mean one thing, there is a new Fallout game on the way and he’s on the design team.
Now, of course, there is no confirmation of this yet. Bethesda is far too busy pushing it’s Fallout 4 VR to talk about the next game. A new Fallout title is almost guaranteed. The franchise is far too successful for their now to be, however, is production has started, it might, at the very least, be with us sooner rather than later.
