Fan Wants to Remake Tomb Raider 2 in Unreal Engine 4

Unreal Engine 4 is incredibly versatile and arguably quite easy to work with, which is why more and more fans are starting off their own gaming projects based on its tools. We’ve seen our fair share of Unreal Engine 4 remakes lately, and while some of them are definitely more impressive than others, the one that you’re looking at right now is definitely noteworthy. What we have here is an unofficial remake of Tomb Raider 2 in Unreal Engine 4 – a project created by a guy who goes by the name of Nicobass. Even though it’s unclear right now whether the remake will actually be released in its final form anytime soon, it’s definitely impressive that Nicobass has made it this far.
Below you will find a series of screenshots of this remake as well as a short gameplay video that shows off some of the project’s main features. What I found particularly impressive was the fact that Nicobass has managed to implement such perfect animations, but the textures and lighting effects definitely deserve a mention as well. It’s not uncommon for these kinds of projects to be shut down early because of cease and desist letters issued by the original developers, but I’m still hoping that Nicobass will somehow manage to pull this project off before that happens.
