Ubisoft has announced a release date and trailer for the much-anticipated Far Cry 5. In addition, Ubisoft has also given an outline as to the game’s plot and antagonist, which will of no doubt be of great interest to fans of the series.
It has been reported that the plot of Far Cry 5 is going to focus around a religious cult in America. With a significant map area, the player can expect the level of free-roaming and various vehicles. Key features fans of the series have come to love.
The official announcement from Ubisoft details: “As the new junior deputy of fictional Hope County, Montana…players will find that their arrival accelerates a years-long silent coup by a fanatical doomsday cult, the Project at Eden’s Gate, igniting a violent takeover of the county. Caught off guard and drawn into a power struggle, players must disrupt the carefully laid plans of the Project at Eden’s Gate and fan the fires of resistance to help liberate the Hope County community and themselves.”
The sad news. Far Cry 5 is set for release on February 27th 2018 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. This is much later than we anticipated in a previous article and in truth I think we were all hoping this would see a Q3 release this year. However, the screenshots we have are amazing. This is shaping up to be a great return to form after the much underwhelming Far Cry Primal.
It will be interesting is see if they do decide to alter the format slightly. Primal was criticised for being too similar to that of 3 and 4 in design. In addition, with many feeling it had a worse plot with little substance. We should, therefore, expect a strong antagonist to compete with those in the previous games. I know a lot of people rave about Far Cry 3 and Vaas. Personally, I think Pagan Min was a better antagonist. Incidentally, Did you try the crab rangoon?
If the screenshots and trailer are anything to go by, it is going to be well worth the wait.
