Far Cry: New Dawn Getting 60 FPS Update on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S Soon

Almost six years after its original release, Far Cry: New Dawn will soon receive an update for current-generation consoles, allowing it to run at 60 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, along with various other improvements.
Ubisoft’s Announcement
Ubisoft unexpectedly announced this on X (formerly Twitter), stating that the reveal was not originally planned but became necessary due to a change in the Xbox version to enable this next-gen upgrade.
“Well… this wasn’t how we planned to announce this,” Ubisoft wrote on X. “A 60 FPS update is coming to Far Cry New Dawn on Xbox Series X|S! BUT to ensure a smooth roll out, we need to temporarily disable FPS Boost.”
The update announcement was made this way because Ubisoft had to disable FPS Boost, a system feature on Xbox Series X|S that automatically increases frame rates.
The update will also be available for PS5, likely at the same time as Xbox, though no official release date has been confirmed yet. More details are expected in the coming days.
Far Cry: New Dawn is one of the upcoming titles in the Xbox Game Pass catalog for late January and early February. It will be added to the service on February 4, which might also be when the update goes live.
