Final Thoughts

Pricing

The Fierce PC Imperial Hive is a great system, and while it is very powerful, it does use some relatively expensive hardware. The retail number on the model we tested it £1869.95. If you were to build it yourself, we estimated it would cost around £75 less with parts found on Amazon.co.uk. Of course, that means making it yourself, downloading drivers, etc. and it doesn’t include the 5-year Prestige Protect Warranty. The warranty is worth more than the price difference, and a professional build is often welcome.

“But I would rather build my own”

Go do it then, that’s the freedom you have. However, not everyone has the time to do so, and if you’re busy with work and family, having it pre-made is very appealing. Either way, it looks like Fierce PC are right on the money with the price of this build.

Overview

While the Imperial Hive is the first PC we reviewed from Fierce PC, it is very impressive. They’ve set about creating a high-performance gaming system for those who want to game at extreme frame rates and resolutions of 1440p and 2160p. They’ve certainly hit their target with the Imperial Hive, as it’s an absolute monster when it comes to gaming, setting some of the highest benchmarks scores we’ve ever had for any system.

Game at Extreme Frame Rates and Resolutions

Without a doubt, this is a fantastic gaming system. However, that’s not all the Imperial Hive has to offer. When it came to testing the performance in Cinebench, for example, the system decimated the competition. Of course, this is the only Ryzen system, and the only 8-core 16-thread system we reviewed.  Overall, more cores are a significant benefit to heavy multitasking and rendering workloads. If you’ve wanted a powerful gaming system, that will also get your video rendering, game development, and other demanding jobs done; it’s certainly got what you need.

Of course, a powerful GPU and CPU combo is always nice. However, the Hive doesn’t skip the other details either. Also, the use of a high-performance M.2 boot drive gives this system a significant advantage and having faster loading times for all your applications and games is always welcome. Furthermore, fast ram is vital for high performance on Ryzen, and they could have used faster memory. However, we’ve had good results in our benchmarks, so do we need more expensive memory? Probably not.

Some of the Best Gaming Performance on the Market

The system isn’t cheap, but since it delivers some of the best gaming performance on the market thanks to the GTX 1080 Ti, and fantastic productivity thanks to its Ryzen CPU, you do get a lot in return for your investment.

While the use of the gorgeous Onyx chassis from Game Max, Corsair memory, the Cooler Master AIO, and more, all help maintain that premium quality vibe,  it is the inclusion of a 5-year warranty that gives the most peace of mind to any buyer. You will be well looked after should anything go wrong, and that’s something you don’t always get when building one yourself.

Pros

  • Excellent build quality
  • Good cable management
  • Pre-overclocked
  • Good acoustic performance
  • One of the fastest GPUs and CPU on the market
  • Excellent HDD speeds
  • Exceptional 4K gaming performance
  • Fair pricing
  • 5-Year Warranty

Cons

  • None

Neutral

  • You can build it cheaper, but you the added value of the warranty is hard to beat!
