Luc Besson‘s movie masterpiece The Fifth Element is set to return to movie theaters next month! This is great news for fans of the movie, and even for those who missed it the first time around. Don’t think they’ll just be spinning the reels with the old version either, as it’s been given a stunning 4K remaster before it returns in celebration of its 20th anniversary. Not only that, but those who attend the limited time viewings will also be able to catch an exclusive preview of Besson’s upcoming Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.
The Fifth Element is set to play in more than 400 cinemas nationwide (US) for two days only: Sunday, May 14, and Wednesday, May 17, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (local time) each day. Not going to be able to make it to the cinema in time to watch it on the big screen? Don’t worry too much, as that 4K remaster isn’t going to waste. The film will be released on 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray on July 11th 2017, and that’s the version I’m waiting for myself, as I know there is a Dolby Atmos track for this movie out there too, so home cinema enthusiasts should be in for a real treat.
Tickets to The Fifth Element 20th Anniversary screenings can be purchased online at www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices.
