Final Fantasy 16 PC Port Set for September Release

Square Enix has officially confirmed that Final Fantasy 16 will launch on PC on September 17, 2024. The game, originally released as a PlayStation 5 exclusive last year, will now be available for PC gamers via both the Epic Games Store and Steam.

Complete Edition and Demo Details

The PC version will come as a “Complete Edition,” including all previously released DLCs, namely Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide. While these expansions are included in the Complete Edition, players can also purchase them separately. In addition, a demo version of the game is now available for download. Progress made in the demo will carry over to the full game, offering players a seamless transition once they purchase the game.

In a surprising twist, Square Enix’s announcement came just ahead of Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, further fueling excitement among fans. The game will be priced at $49.99 for the base version, with the Complete Edition available at $69.99.

Final Fantasy 16 had initially received mixed reactions due to its shift from traditional turn-based combat to real-time action combat. However, it has been praised for its engaging story, characters, and world-building. The simultaneous release on both Epic and Steam marks a departure from the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which initially launched as an Epic exclusive.
