Of course since the original release of Final Fantasy VII the story hasn’t changed one bit, we’re talking about a game that came out way before downloadable content and title updates were a big part of a games release, so if you played the original, its all here, its all intact and little has been changed, although I heard a rumour that some spelling errors were fixed, but its hard to spot a word that is now spelt correctly in a large game like this for obvious reasons.
For those of you who haven’t played Final Fantasy VII, you find yourself playing the part of Cloud, a mercenary now hired to work for a group called Avalanche, a group of eco terrorists set to end the evil rule of Shinra, who are killing the planet by using its life force to generate the worlds energy.
Of course there is more to it than that, but I would have to give the plot away beyond the first few hours, given that this game can be done in around 60 hours if you rush, the story is grand in scale and easy to spoil, but essentially boils down to the epic struggle of good vs evil, friendship and there are even a few love stories thrown in for good measure.
But if you’re a fan of the Final Fantasy series, or even just the more recent ones, JRPG or even just RPG games in general, you’re going to be relatively familiar with this sort of plot.
