Nope, I’m not trolling you, I’m really not. Sony on the other hand, might be trolling us all big time, but it’s unlikely that this is fake. The news landed in my inbox this morning that Final Fantasy VII was finally getting a HD remake and I have to admit, I said something I simply can’t repeat here.

The news broke on the official PlayStation Twitter account a few hours ago, leaving many members of the social site in absolutely shock. It’s been rumoured since the PlayStation 2 era, but this year, it’s really happening.

I was really to call Sony’s bluff, but they quickly followed up the announcement by releasing a trailer on their official YouTube account.

Final Fantasy has long been one of the most iconic RPG series in gaming history, well, the older ones have, anything after FFXII got a little “weird” even by Final Fantasy standards.

The game is set to return to the PlayStation 4 in a fully recreated HD version. You’ll be blowing up Mako reactors and spending your hard earned Gil at the Golden Saucer again before you know it!

What do you think of this news? Will you be buying this game again after all these years?
