We are literally days away from one of the most anticipated PC released in 2018. I do not think it’s an underestimation to suggest that since Final Fantasy XV released on console, PC owners have been patiently waiting to try this game out for themselves.
Well, we are literally days away from launch, but that doesn’t mean that the crack teams haven’t been hard at work. As part of that, it seems that 4 priors prior to launch Final Fantasy XV has already been cracked.
The Final Fantasy XV demo was released a few days ago, and as part of that, some of the suppliers of the demo provided that data in different formats.
While Steam and Windows provided it as an encrypted executable, in a report via DSOGaming, Origin, for reasons unclear, did not. They released the executable file completely un-encrypted. This, for those unfamiliar, is basically Origin throwing out the welcome mat to game crack teams.
It is reported that a Chinese team of game crackers has been successful in bypassing the protection. As such, they have reported having created a fully running cracked version of the game. In addition, it is believed that the version they have created has at the very least, the first 3 chapters fully playable and also including 4k graphical support.
There is, for gamers, however, a silver lining to this dark cloud.
After weeks of on again off again speculation, we finally learned yesterday that FFXV will include Denuvo piracy protection. It should be noted that the cracked demo did not include Denuvo.
Therefore, those who believe that Denuvo does cause system performance issues, well, you are about to be able to see through direct comparison if that is true or not.
I can’t say I’m surprised that FFXV has been cracked, it is, after all, one of the top PC releases this year. I daresay, however, that Square Enix might be having words with Origin over this.
What do you think? Planning on getting FFXV? Surprised it has been cracked? What do you think about Denuvo? – Let us know in the comments!
