Final Fantasy XV Director “Thinking About” PC Version

There is a growing trend amongst games that were once console exclusives that are now making their way to PC. The Final Fantasy franchise is no exception to this, with the majority of its main series games available on Steam in one of their remade incarnations. The latest upcoming game, Final Fantasy XV is no stranger to rumours and hints that it too will release on PC and even talk that should it arrive on PC, the game would be more technically developed to suit the platform.

While a PC version of the game is a way off, PC gaming Final Fantasy fans can take solace in the fact that Square Enix are still thinking about a PC release of the game, however there will be a long wait ahead as the game will only be brought to PC following the release of the title on consoles. Director Hajime Tabata explained that the reason for this is due to the team wanting to make the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game as well polished and optimised as possible and without having to cut content in order for the game to be released on time.

Tabata has also expressed interest in the upcoming mid-life upgrade for the PS4 and Xbox One, PlayStation NEO and Project Scorpio respectively, and despite not yet having a chance to work with the Scorpio, sees a lot of potential in these upgraded consoles. While it is currently unknown how much improvement the new consoles will have for existing PS4 and Xbox One games, Tabata stated that he would like to bring Final Fantasy XV to the improved hardware and have it able to be played at their level.

Final Fantasy XV is scheduled to launch on 30th September 2016 on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
