AMD is looking to take Intel on in the highly competitive Ultrabook market. Currently the Ultrabook scheme is mainly centred around Intel and the Sandy Bridge processors. AMD is looking to change this and provide a much cheaper Ultrabook using their “Brazos” range of processors. Expect AMD to use dual and quad core 40nm Wichita processors which will come with updated HD 7000 graphics. The Zacate APUs will form the central part of an otherwise identical system to the Intel Ultrabooks which weighs just 1.4KG and is designed to take on the MacBook Air.
