First EK Predator AIO Benchmarks Revealed

EKWB are synonymous with water-cooling products and fixated on custom-loop solutions for a significant time. However, the company recently announced their first foray into the all-in-one market with the Predator 240 and 360. The Predator range features a copper radiator, extremely powerful pump for expandability and high FPI design. In terms of its specifications, the only models which come close are the Swiftech H220-X and H320. With only 2 days to go until release, temperature results have finally emerged which give an insight into the raw performance numbers.

On the extreme 2011-3 platform, using a 5960X with 1.15V at 4.4GHz, the 240mm Predator achieved a temperature under load of 46.43C which slightly edged Corsair’s 240mm closed-looped-cooler at 46.88C. Impressively, the Predator 240 in within 2 degrees of Corsair’s flagship 280mm cooler. Moving onto the Predator 360, we can see it destroys Fractal’s 360mm product by around 8C.

Benchmarks on the Haswell system are intriguing but please note the voltage of 1.23V is fairly conservative and could be increased in many circumstances. The Predator 240 attained a load temperature of 49C which beat the Corsair 240mm competition by around 4C and came within 1C of the 280mm model. Once again, the Predator 360 reigns supreme but the margin is much smaller on the mainstream 1150 platform.

Overall, the benchmarks are impressive and the fans were all set to 2200RPM in the interest of fairness. However, I would love to see how the EK products fared against Swiftech’s extremely high-quality all-in-one coolers. Unfortunately, they are extremely difficult to get hold of outside the USA.
