First Episode of Fallout Heading to Twitch

If you’re eager to watch the first episode of Fallout, which launches in just a couple of days, then well, the title of this article already gave away the surprise. While the show will be on Amazon Video, it will only be available for those with an Amazon Prime subscription, but on the plus side, every episode is launching at the same time, so if you did have a free trial or want to take out a shorter subscription to watch it, you could just binge all of the episodes in one weekend.
Fallout Heads to Twitch
If like me, you prefer peace and quiet while you watch your TV, then you’ll likely hate this idea, but if you’re eager to get the first episode of Fallout for free as a bit of taster, then I suppose it’s not all bed. With the first episode going to 15 different streamers on Twitch, you’ll be able to watch along with them on the launch day, and I suppose if you like it, that’s their tool to get you to sub to Amazon to watch the other seven episodes.
Watch Along
In fairness, watching along could be fun, and I’m sure the comments in the chat will be pretty lively to say the least, albeit also very distracting at the same time. However, early reviews and information about the first season have been overwhelmingly positive, and with such rich lore already existing for the Fallout franchise, I’m eager to see how it has been adapted to the little screen.
While Twitch Watch Parties have come to an end due to their lack of popularity, Twitch and Amazon have said this is a one-off, rather than an immediate return of the format.
What Twitch Had to Say
Twitch calls this “a one-off collaboration for the Fallout series launch,” and “a first of its kind collaboration with Prime Video, [where] episode one of the TV adaptation of the famed Fallout series will be co-streamed across 15 Twitch channels, offering a way for fans of the gaming saga to enjoy the series.”
