Following the critical mauling of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, anticipation for DC Comics’ next cinematic outing, Justice League, seems to have waned. In an effort to stoke up some excitement, Warner Bros has released an extended preview of the movie, which sees Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman, and The Flash team up to take on the might of Steppenwolf and his Parademon army.
The footage, which debuted at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, shows Bruce Wayne recruiting The Flash and Aquaman, interspersed with clips of Wonder Woman, Cyborg, and a bunch of medieval knights burying a mysterious box:
In a recent interview, director Zack Snyder revealed that the tone of Justice League will be very different from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
“Tone has always been the main thing that I go after with a movie, and I really wanted the tone of the three movies to be different chapters and not be the same note that you strike like, “Okay, there’s this again”,” Snyder told Screen Rant. “I really wanted that, and I do believe that since Batman v Superman came out and we’ve wrapped our heads around what Justice League would be, I do think that the tone has, because of what fans have said and how the movie was received by some, is that we have kind of put the screws to what we thought the tone would be and I feel crushed it that little bit further.”
Justice League is set to hit cinemas in November 2017.
