First Minute of The X-Files Revival Now Online

The first minute of the first episode of The X-Files revival has been made available online by FOX, at the website doyoustillbelieve.com. The 60-second tease is little more than a general recap, encompassing the nine year-long TV show and two movies, with Fox Mulder delivering a subdued voiceover.
“My name is Fox Mulder,” the voiceover begins. “Since my childhood I’ve been obsessed by a controversial global phenomenon.”
“In 1993, the FBI sought to impugn my work, by bringing in a scientist and medical doctor to debunk it, which only deepened my obsession for the better part of a decade, during which time that agent, Dana Scully, had her own faith tested.”
David Duchovny, who plays Mulder, spoke about how emotional an experience it was for him to read the first script for The X-Files’ revival, absent from our screens for nearly 14 years.
“It was nostalgia. Just to see Mulder and Scully on the page and all that stuff. Honestly, I wish I never said it because it’s brought up all the time. Think of it this way, it’s like reading a letter from camp that you wrote when you were fifteen. It was nostalgia or something,” Duchovny said, via Business Standard. “It didn’t have to do with the actual words on the page. It was the fact – ‘Oh, I’m reading an X-File.’ Try to put it to bed with all your readers. Don’t ask him anymore why he cried! I felt emotional, I didn’t cry.”
