AMD’s Polaris range targets mainstream users requiring an enjoyable PC gaming experience at a price they can afford. Previously, consumers had to settle for lower graphical settings to achieve a good frame-rate with lower-end hardware. Thankfully, the RX 480, RX 470 and RX 460 are going to revolutionise the kind of performance you can get on a budget. Furthermore, the RX 480 is capable of providing a premium VR experience starting at a mere $200. Of course, pricing can vary between different markets and retailers are known to increase the prices especially during a launch when demand is high.
Thanks to a Reddit post by user Thaiminater, we now have a rough idea of the pricing in the European market. It’s important to note that the prices stem from German system integrator gamemachines.de which means they’re probably higher than purchasing the card on its own from a company like Amazon. As you can see, the RX 480 with 4GB of video memory costs 209 Euros while the 8GB version will set you back 249 Euros. The RX 470 appears to only come in a 4GB flavour and costs 149 Euros. Finally, the RX 460 is incredibly cheap and costs 79 Euros.
Once again, taking off the system integrator fee means the prices should be very good for Europeans and I expect the initial batch to be in fairly high volumes.
