Hopefully, by the point you read this, you have Christmas very firmly in hand. Alternatively, however, you left everything until the last minute and now find yourself desperate for stocking fillers.
In an effort to help you, we at eTeknix explore five last-minute Christmas presents that might just save your bacon.
While not for everyone, a game can be a quick and convenient problem solver. With pretty much every game available to buy online (with a code) you can’t go far wrong here for your tech-loving significant other or kids.
With the steam winter sale currently underway as well, it might even be a cheap option for you.
Ok, so not everyone has an Apple product, but let’s face it, most of us do. As such, nothing says I love you like a £20 Apple store voucher. Easily purchasable from the Apple store and to be honest, it’s at least a gift in which you are giving the person to option to get whatever they want rather than what you think they want.
If Apple isn’t there thing there are vouchers for everything online, just make sure you visit legitimate websites. You don’t, after all, want to give them a dodgy one.
Admittedly, I’m stealing this one from Bottom, but if you’re really desperate, offer someone the power to put whatever they want on the TV for 24 hours.
While this might sound like an incredibly crap gift, just think about it for a second. Boxing day football, all of those Christmas war films. With a wife who watches Geordie Shore and a Son who is obsessed with Peppa Pig, I’d murder for 24 hours with the TV.
As we hinted to in another Christmas article, it can be hard getting to play with all your nice new toys at Christmas. Particularly when your family seem to think its a time of year you should be spending with them rather than your computer. It’s lazy, but a last ditch effort in the thin guise as a present, you could try to be super helpful with the Christmas/New Year preparations. Maybe set the table?
This could also have it’s hidden perks, if you do it badly, like, really badly, they might actually let you off the hook preferring to have you out of the way.
Yeah, IOU’s are lazy, but they can work. Rather than writing it hastily on a napkin though, try using something a bit more festive. If you have a nice spare Christmas card and steal it.
Just a top tip though, an ‘IOU 1 x Present’ will likely not win you any friends.
