After the success of Dirt 3, which has also proven to be a great game for benchmarking purposes, Codemasters has decided to bring two new title in the Dirt franchise.
The first title will go by the name of Dirt 4 and will be a “back to basics” so to speak, focusing more on the traditional ‘Dirt-like’ activities surrounding rally car racing in order to deliver an authentic and traditional experience to the players.
The second title will be another spin-off of the franchise, named Dirt Showdown, it will basically focus on everything else that’s ‘outside’ of the traditional Dirt game. That means activities such as gymkhana as well as hardcore thrill-seeking racing experiences.
Both Dirt 4 and Dirt Showdown are expected for a 2012 release, as for other details, everything is rather unclear. However, the games will most probably release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
