For Honor’s server infrastructure will be improved.

Ubisoft’s For Honor is doing quite well apparently. Available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, the game will receive a brand new season on February 15. This new Age of Wolves season will also bring about a series of major updates. One of these updates includes the addition of dedicated servers. According to For Honor’s official development map, this implementation will arrive right on time. Back in December, gamers took part in an Open Test that allowed the developers to gather data required for the live release. There are quite a few advantages to having dedicated servers, some of which we’ll detail below.

The advantages.

At first, these servers will improve PVP game modes while removing session migrations as well as the NAT requirements. It looks like resyncing will also be removed, which is nice. Overall, the dedicated servers should be able to provide a more stable gaming experience. The Game Director of For Honor, Damien Kieken, has issued the following statement:

“Changing the online infrastructure while the game was live was a challenge, but a decisive step in improving the game experience of our players. The implementation of the dedicated servers gives us confidence in the direction the game is taking and will pave the way for a full year of continued support and new contents.”

Other noteworthy Age of Wolves updates will alter ranked play and player progression. Furthermore, five heroes will receive their own tweaks as part of the new season.
