Fortnite Battle Royale is currently running a massive 50 vs. 50 mode for a limited time. The popular free-to-play game from Epic is testing the mode out until December 17, 2017. This should give fans a little over a week to try out the madness. What makes this mode very interesting is how chaotic it can be. Teaming up with over 50 people is a matter of coordination, and that would be completely impossible and disorienting. However, that madness is part of what makes the mode so much fun.
Fortnite recently hit its 1.3 million concurrent user count and boasts over 30 million players. Unlike PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds, Fortnite is available on a variety of platforms besides PC, and its free-to-play Battle Royale is accessible to most players. Unlike PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds, Fortnite also runs quite well and is optimized for more systems. Even their console ports are very crisp looking since it runs at 1728p on Xbox One X and full 1080p on the PlayStation 4 Pro.
Epic Games is also promising more game modes in the future. If well received, 50 vs 50 could also permanently be a part of the regular rotation.
