The Forza Motorsport franchise is best known for its accessible yet realistic physics model and immersive career mode. Even though the core titles have a fairly serious tone, the Forza Horizon spin-off provides light entertainment for those who enjoy a more casual racing experience. In Forza Horizon, the player explores vast landscapes and becomes embroiled in intense races. Previously, the Forza series was an Xbox exclusive and Microsoft didn’t appear to have any intentions of listening to passionate pleas from PC gamers.
Thankfully, the company’s attitude changed and they now consider Windows 10 an essential part of their gaming line-up. In a rather exciting move, Forza Horizon 3 will launch on PC although access is limited to those running Windows 10. In a post, a representative provided an insight into the PC version and included the recommended specification:
“We know lots of players are preparing to enjoy Forza Horizon 3 on Windows 10 PCs and today we’re revealing the recommended specifications. Naturally, Forza Horizon 3 will require DirectX 12-enabled machines and Windows 10. Check out details on these recommended specs at ForzaMotorsport.net.
Forza Horizon 3 players will have a tremendous amount of adjustment options when playing on Windows 10. From basic options like full screen, vertical sync and resolution, to more advanced adjustments like quality settings for motion blur, mirrors, reflection, static and dynamic geometry, we’re giving Windows 10 players the power to play the way they want. Whether playing on the recommended specs or pushing the hardware limits to deliver the ultimate 4K racing experience, Forza Horizon 3 players will have lots of options for making the most of their experience.
One additional note, we know there are a lot of PC players who want to know more about using wheels. Look for an update on wheel support in Forza Horizon 3 on Windows 10 in an upcoming story in the future.”

The recommended specification makes for interesting reading and I’m looking forward to benchmarking the game using a wide range of graphics cards. As you can see, Forza Horizon 3 consumes a hefty amount of hard drive space and requires a pretty decent graphics card. However, if you’re hardware is fairly recent, there shouldn’t be any issues. Once again, the memory amount surpasses 8GB, but honestly, I doubt the quoted 12GB is needed to run the game smoothly.
Are you looking forward to Forza Horizon 3 or waiting to see if it ends up on Steam?
