Forza Motorsport 10th October Release Officially Revealed

Over the weekend we saw the rumours surrounding the 10th of October release date for Forza Motorsport which has now been confirmed at the Xbox Games Showcase giving us more details on the reboot of the franchise.

Forza Motorsport Coming October 10th

Forza Motorsport has been revealed to be releasing on October 10th as per the rumours over the weekend. The official trailer offered us details surrounding the two cover cars, The Cadillac racing V-Series.R racecar and the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray which is a hybrid that uses an e-AWD system working in tandem with its LT2 V8 giving it a 2.5 second 0-60.

New Career Mode

The key thing I’m looking at in this game is whether they can create a career mode with the same brilliant progression of Forza Motorsport 4 which judging from the wording that has been shared could very well be the case but I won’t get too excited. The single-player career mode is named “The Builders Cup” which features the claim of being a “new, fun and rewarding single-player campaign” and is described as “Out-build the competition by earning over 800 performance upgrades”. The descriptions used definitely sound like a zero-to-hero kind of deal with you building a better car as the game progresses instead of being given the best cars right from the start like in previous games including Horizon. More details about this single-player campaign will be shown off in the Forza Monthly live stream tomorrow at 6 PM UTC.

Race Weekend Inspired Multiplayer

Multiplayer was something I never really played in the Motorsport series as I didn’t have good internet when I played 4 and 5 so I don’t have much of an opinion on the topic. With this new game the multiplayer will feature a race weekend inspired structure and will allow you to create your own events in Free Play for you and your friends. Additionally multiplayer will be enhanced with AI-powered Forza Race Regulations, tire and fuel strategy and new driver and safety ratings.

New Tracks and Car List

The game launches with 20 completely rebuilt tracks from around the world including 5 never seen before tracks alongside the return of known real tracks and Maple Valley fictional track. Below is 12 tracks that have been revealed so there’s still hope for Sedona Raceway Park to make a return.

  • Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
  • Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans (Le Mans)
  • Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps
  • Hakone Circuit
  • Indianapolis Motor Speedway
  • Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit
  • Laguna Seca Raceway
  • Maple Valley
  • Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course
  • Silverstone Circuit
  • Suzuka Circuit
  • Virginia International Raceway

Onto cars which is the other key feature of a racing game, the game will start with over 500 cars some of which have been already revealed in the trailer. The range of cars shown has mostly been modern racecars and classic racecars however it is likely we will still see the regular road cars that we have always seen in the Motorsport series giving us the opportunity to gap an Audi Le Mans car in a Corsa with X class modifications.

Where Can I Learn More

Forza Motorsport will be available on PC through Steam and the Microsoft store as well as Xbox consoles and with Xbox Game pass from October 10th or October 5th for those who pre-order the premium edition. The Standard Edition starts at $69.99 with the premium edition demanding a $99.99 price tag which is absolutely insane but it can be offset if you just play it on Game Pass for a month or so.
