Foxconn, the company behind the assembling of products for Apple, Dell, HP, Intel and Microsoft, is now under investigation over allegations of bribery claimed by supply firms.
The supply firms have reported Foxconn to the Chinese authorities. According to Taiwan Next Magazine, a Foxconn manager was arrested and detained in Shenzhen over the suspicion that he solicited bribes from numerous supply firms.
Foxconn assured that there will be a thorough investigation and it provided the following statement to the media:
“We are working with law enforcement officials who we brought in to work with our own internal audit team as part of an investigation into allegations against a number of Foxconn employees related to illegal payments from supply chain partners.”
