Oculus Rift may not be out yet, but that hasn’t stopped an almost constant wave of support for the hardware from many developers. The latest Reloaded Beta is the latest entry to the VR party and will now allow you to explore the first person titles you’ve created from the perspective they were intended to be viewed from, the first person of course.
Any game made in FPS Creator Reloaded can now also be saved out as a standalone executable and then combined with the Oculus Rift headset, you can experience what you’ve made in glorious stereoscopic 3D. It also means that the levels you’ve created are easily shared, handy if a few of your friends also have a VR headset.
“Ever since the Oculus Rift was announced we knew it would be a great companion to FPS Creator Reloaded. Gamers will have loads of fun creating levels and exploring them with the Oculus Rift.” said Rick Vanner, Development Director at The Game Creators.
“Creating games within your own virtual reality is like nothing you’ll have experienced before. The sense of immersion you get from the Oculus Rift is unbelievable” commented Lee Bamber, CEO and lead developer.
When Oculus Rift was first revealed to the tech world, I already started thinking reasons why I have to buy one, let’s just hope the Oculus get their final hardware complete very shortly and get the product to market!
