Fractal Design Adjust 108 Fan Controller Review

Out of the box we get our first look at the Adjust 108, it’s a simple looking device but not without its charms thanks to numerous little style touches that really make it stand out. As you can see the controller features 6 vertical sliders, each with a single wide LED at their base that can change brightness dependant on the slider height. The front panel is finished in a very luxurious looking black aluminium and the “Fractal Design” logo in the centre to make a nice contrast against the dark finish of the panel.

The Adjust 108 is easily mounted in a 5.25″ drive bay and comes pre-mounted on a slot in bracket that can be screwed into place thanks to the pre-drilled holes and included screws, it’s also fairly shallow too, not requiring more than half the depth of a typical 5.25″ optical drive, not breath taking information I know but it is highly practical and provides high compatibility with nearly all chassis’ on the market.

While the device does come pre-wired out of the box, each of the cables can be removed should you not require them, this will help with cable management to some end or you could just bundle any excess into the recess at the back of the controller much like you can see in the image below.

One thing I like about the Adjust 108 is that it comes with two power connections, a single 4 pin molex and a SATA power connection to ensure higher compatibility with most systems, although I must point out that you only need one of the two, not both. There is also a good 2ft of cable for the connections and this should provide more than enough reach for most chassis’ on the market when you add in the length of each fans connection cables.
