Fractal Design Define 7 Compact PC Case Review

A Closer Look – Interior

The interior of this case is super clean and stylish. I mean, this is a Fractal Design case after all, design is literally in their name. There’s a good amount of space for a mid-tower case, and there are large cutouts for routing and hardware installation.

There’s a full-length PSU cover here, which should keep everything looking neat and tidy. It comes with a small routing hole in the back corner, as well as a large rubber grommet, and a load of ventilation too.

Towards the front, you’ll find a single intake fan, but it is a superb quality fan from Fractal Design themselves. Want to get a big radiator in the front? Fear not, you can remove a small section of the PSU shroud to accommodate that.

In the back, you’ll find all of the expansion slots are fitted with reusable metal covers. Plus, they all use thumbscrews too, making them quick and easy to swap out.

In the top, 120mm exhaust fan. Of course, you could always change this out for an AIO or custom radiator too.

The right side panel is thick steel, but also features a heavy duty layer of noise isolating material that will also help reduce unwanted vibraitons.

Behind the motherboard, there’s a modest amount of space, but not that much. Of course, towards the front there’s a deeper section, and there are cable routing channels and Velcro straps everywhere too so routing cables cleanly will be a breeze. Don’t worry about the tight space behind the motherboard though, as all your excess cables will hide under the PSU shroud.

Also tucked away back here are two SSD mounts.

Plus, there’s a removable HDD cage in the bottom that’ll take 2 x 3.5″ or 2 x 2.5″ drives.
