Complete System

I’ve built many hundreds of systems over the years, and I can honestly tell you, it doesn’t get much easier than this. The Fractal Design Define 7 is such a joy to work with. Just look at the build (above) and how clean it looks. If anything, it actually looks a little sparse it’s so clean.

Strangely, there’s no vertical pass-through for the GPU cables towards the glass, but the one at the back works pretty well. There’s loads of room in here too, and even our MASSIVE Aorus RTX 2070 fit with ease. You can also see the shroud is doing a great job cleaning up the cable routing… well, in a way, you can’t see that, but it’s still doing it.

The vertical GPU mount is cool addition too. It’ll support a 2.5 slot card, albeit you’ll need to purchase the riser cable to make use of it.

There’s a hilarious amount of space for a big CPU cooler in here. I could easily have opted for the full-size Noctua D15 with no issues. The upper clearance from the motherboard is great too, ensuring any AIO or custom radiators should fit with ease. Plus there’s a lot of reinforcement in the top, so a fully loaded 420mm radiator shouldn’t be an issue.

Notice the change? I swapped out the stock top panel for that cool ventilated one that was included in the box. I like the silent look myself, but this is still a great looking panel too!

In this configuration, the case has loads of cooling space in the front. Those dual 140mm front panel fans bringing in a huge wall of air to the GPU and CPU. However, you can move that blank panel on the right to the left side, and hide the additional HDD bays behind it. So clean and modern like this, or a huge bank of front panel bays; the best of both worlds!

Finally, pop the tempered glass panel back in place, and the build is complete. I love that it still looks like a Define from years gone, but it’s so much sharper looking and modern too.
