Fractal Design Define R6 Tempered Glass Chassis Review

Complete System
Putting a system together with the Define R6 was a joyful experience. For starters, every component on this chassis fits like a glove and feels very well engineered. This level of build quality made it super easy to install all our my test hardware, and there were zero issues with compatibility. Of course, it’s hardly a small chassis, so it’s not much of a surprise that everything fit so easily.
Great Airflow
The rather large Noctua NH-D15S, as well as its Chromax add-on gear, proved no issue for the width of the R6. There’s a lot of room here for airflow around the CPU, and plentiful clearance from the top and rear fan mounts for additional cooling if required.
Cable routing placement is superb throughout, with easy access to all of our components, cable trail was kept to an absolute minimum with ease.
Clean Cable Routing
I was concerned that the GPU was going to conflict with the drive mounts. However, there’s more room here than you might think, and the biggest GPUs on the market will fit with ease. Of course, if you do hit a conflict, you can move or remove any of those drive mounts to suit your needs.
Cable routing around the motherboard means that any smaller cables can hide out of sight. In fact, they’re so well tucked away, it’s hard to even see them in this build.
Huge Amounts of Airflow
Thanks to the spacious design, airflow from the front fans, right through to the back of the chassis, is unobstructed, allowing for great cooling performance.
With the side panel back in place, the Define R6 is a work of art. Little details such as the black trim on the window and the contrasting white components really set this chassis apart. It’s one of the cleanest and slickest looking builds we’ve ever put together, and with almost 300 reviews under my belt, that’s saying something.
It’s gorgeous from every angle, from the brushed aluminium, right down to the chromed feet, it’s just perfect.
