Final Thoughts
Price
The best news about this chassis is the price. Of course, it’s not cheap at around £120, but it’s pretty fantastic value for money given the level of build quality and features you get for your investment. It’s by far one of the best chassis we’ve ever seen and is faultless regarding design. Even better, if you’re not a window lover and want a focus on silent, the solid panel version is £10 cheaper!
Overview
It’s been around three years since we had a new Define series chassis from Fractal Design. However, it’s indeed been worth the wait. Every aspect of this chassis is new and improved. It still manages to keep all the key elements that made the previous generations so popular. It still has that box-like and understated design. There’s a relentless pursuit of durable build quality. Plus, a strong focus on sound dampening and airflow that’s pretty much unmatched.
Style
From the outset, this chassis could seem a little boring, but it’s anything but. If you were to walk past it, you might not even notice it. Of course, if you come in for a closer look, those little details start to reveal themselves. The aluminium front panel has a shine of quality about it. The weight of the front panel door is a huge hint at the overall build quality too. The tempered glass window doesn’t have any exposed thumbscrews, giving it a super sleek look. The stealthy and well-placed cable routing systems keep things clean. Then you’ve got full-size filters on the top, front and bottom of the chassis. Clean airflow ensures your system stays in good shape. As I said, everything is there, it just isn’t immediately apparent.
Why Have RGB, When You Can Have Class Like This
You can get a loud looking RGB beast of a chassis for the same price. However, I want something professional, mature, stylish, and understated in my office. But I still want to build an extreme gaming rig with no compromise. Of course, that’s exactly the part of the market the Define R6 is built to tackle.
Added Value
The inclusion of a fan hub is a huge bonus. As are little details like the Velcro mounts, and durable grommets. There are three premium quality 140mm fans installed too. You get all the airflow you need right out of the box. However, with extensive amounts of radiator space, you could easily install the custom loop of your dreams too. Modular HDD bays, as well as two stealth, mounts 2.5″ drives take care of all your storage needs too.
Perfect
As I said above, this really is a perfect chassis. If there are any faults with it, they’re purely subjective and I couldn’t find any. Everything fit with ease, and there was plenty of room to spare beyond that. The price is incredibly competitive given the quality of the product. It’s just great to see the Define series resurrected in style.
