Fractal Design Launches Define R6 Case

Fractal Design has added one more case to their line up. This time it is the latest version from their Define series, now on its 6th revision. Thus, it goes by the name Define R6. According to Fractal Design, the R6 represents the biggest iteration and “most profound stride in innovation” in terms of design. Judging from the photos alone, they might be right.

Fractal Design Define R6 Features

The Define R6 series comes in four different variants: white, black, gunmetael and black-out. All have a brushed aluminium front panel with a tempered glass side panel. This results in a very clean look. However, they have also not forgotten about airflow. In fact, the front door is reversible and has sizable ventilation along the sides.

Like previous Define cases, the new R6 also boasts sound dampening panels. It has one at the front door, on the steel right side panel and the top panel. Users can remove the top panel if they prefer more ventilation. Fractal Design calls this the ModuVent system, and it is the third generation of the design.

Most mid-tower cases these days require liquid cooling support. Which is why the Define R6 accomodates larger radiators. Up to a 280mm can be put on the floor, while a 420mm radiator can be put at the ceiling. The front also supports up to 360mm radiators.

The case does not forego drive storage options despite the liquid cooling support however. There are even six 3.5-inch drive mounts which can also accept 2.5-inch drives. Four additional 2.5-inch drive mount areas are also available.

Pricing Information

The Define R6 is available starting at £120, with the top end fully loaded model at £199. For more information, visit: http://www.fractal-design.com/home/define-r6-mini-site
