Fractal Design launches the R4 case

Fractal Design’s R3 was a very popular and well received case across the hardware community. Now Fractal Design is ready with the successor, the R4. Built around the same principle idea of silence, the R4 features an abundance of sound dampening foam.
The case still supports all the latest high end hardware such as 8 hard drives, long graphics cards (up to 430mm with the 5 bay HDD cage removed) and custom CPU cooling with a healthily sized CPU cutout and 170mm of height clearance. As standard the case comes equipped with a pair of 140mm Silent Series R2 hydraulic bearing fans, one for the front and one for the back, maintaining good airflow.
The R4 still retains that understated and sleek look with a typical selection of minimalist colours available – black, white and grey. Fractal have increased the amount of space behind the motherboard tray for cable routing and organisation – there is now 26mm.
It’s also nice to see Fractal include some more innovative features like the ability to mount two SSDs on the reverse side of the motherboard tray as well as the integrated 3 channel fan controller. USB 3.0 is included on the front panel and knowing Fractal it should be an internal connector not a pass through.
Pricing is reasonable, $109.99 or €94.95, so probably around the £85 marker for the U.K market.
