Framework is a company that focuses on providing modular laptops with repairability and upgradability in mind. They offer a laptop frame with internals including the motherboard, storage, I/O and monitor that can be easily removed and replaced when they go wrong or need an upgrade with modules allowing you to get on the latest Intel or AMD platform without the need to buy an entirely new laptop. Today Framework have announced improved availability in the UK and EU.
Framework Improved UK and EU Shipping
Announced in a blogpost celebrating the reviews of their Ryzen 7040 series powered Framework 13, Framework now has opened a new warehouse in the Netherlands. This new warehouse will allow for cheaper and faster shipping of Framework Marketplace items to customers in both the EU and the UK which is great news. This has reduced the shipping costs down to €12 in Europe and £10 in the UK. This does not apply to new laptops which will still be shipped from the Taiwan warehouse.
Framework is quite expensive due to its modular and repairable nature, however, in the long run, it should work out better for both the environment and your wallet over upgrading the entire laptop every time.
