A new game is on the horizon for fans of arcade racing games and multiplayer features without extreme advances for anyone. An even playing field with fun game mechanics, a fast paced arcade action, and multiplayer races for up to 8 players sounds like a lot of fun.
The new game is called Wincars Racer and is the first project from DragonJam Studios. The new studio is made up of former EA, Gameloft, and Rovio employees that worked on projects such as Skara and Roving Rouge. Best of all, it will be free to play when it gets released, but for now it will enter the closed beta phase.
Beta keys are handed out here and there, so keep your eyes open and you might be lucky to get in before the actual release. The game blends the instant fun from arcade racers with present-day strategic and competitive features.
The key is that there are no random power-ups or any other element that arbitrary unbalances the game. Wincars Racer introduces a special skills system (three per driver) which needs time to cool down or collecting coins in order to be used. This system is inspired in MOBA games and extends the strategic options that the player can control. Besides, all cars have a different driving style and performance for each circuit. The combinations of driver and car for each race are crucial. As well as trying and testing different strategies in each circuit, even modifying them in the middle of a race, observing the game and your rivals’ actions.
I dare to say in advance that this game will become highly popular, especially with other free to play racing games being a thing of the past. EA shut down World for example.
