As a game, Friday the 13th isn’t very good. Despite this, however, it has garnered itself a loyal fanbase. The game, however, is in desperate need of new content.
In answer to this, the developers have released a preview trailer showing some of the games upcoming single-player challenges and even a counsellor having a pee.
Yes, it seems they do, but the inclusion of that is really just a sideshow to the single-player mode the developers plan to introduce.
This proposed mode of the game will put the player in the role of Jason Vorhees and challenge players to kill the counsellors. As this is not a game for the kids, viewer discretion is advised.
In addition to the single-player mode, the report via PCGamesN, suggests that the game will also include, new voice acting, new death animations and perhaps most importantly, new maps.
They have also revealed that this content will be available to all players for free. Given the poor state the game has been in since launch, I think this is a good idea.
Having purchased Friday the 13th, I must admit, I wasn’t a fan. A friend said to me once, and I must agree, that it was a case of a small developer getting a massive IP. You can read my review of the game here.
A strong single-player mode could help redeem this title, but personally, whether it will be enough to save this game is hard to say.
