The popular slasher game based on the classic 80s horror film Friday the 13th will no longer be available from the end of the year.
Friday The 13th Leaving Due to Expired License
The developers of the game announced on Twitter the other day that the license for Friday The 13th will be expiring on December 31st 2023 meaning the game will no longer be available for physical and digital sales. The game will continue to be available to play through to December 31st 2024 when it will be officially shut down. Up until this time the price of the game has been reduced to $4.99 with all the DLC down to $0.99 up until it is removed from storefronts in December.
I’m sure many people will be disappointed to be unable to play the game as once December 31st 2024 rolls around leaving them the only option of playing Dead by Daylight as the only alternative. It isn’t exactly clear what will happen after the 2024 deadline but I assume it means the servers will be shut down but with the “continue to function” wording it could genuinely just not work anymore.
