FSP Releases 2000W Industrial PSU For Mining

Motherboards and video cards are not the only hardware in demand for a custom mining rig. Power supplies are equally important as well considering how much power these rigs consume. Fortron Source Power aka FSP is releasing a new industrial power supply just for this use. While it is not fancy looking with its plain unpainted metal enclosure, it boasts an 80 Plus platinum rating with short circuit protection on all outputs and has over voltage protection. Moreover, FSP uses a vacuum-impregnated transformer and has 100% Hi-pot tested line input fuse protection. To keep the internal components cool, a single 120mm fan provides active cooling.
Power-up Multiple Video Cards for Mining
Since this power supply is for mining, it has 16 PCIe 6+2 pin power connectors for video cards. That means up to 16 video cards can be powered up with just this single PSU. The good thing with having a single unit that can handle this much load and has this much capacity is that it is easier to replace. Miners often have to muse multiple power supplies. If one goes bad, the time it takes to trouble shoot and replace will take a while. That time is lost and that is time not spent on mining.
