Fujitsu has just issued a massive recall for some of its notebook and workstation models. As with most recalls, this one is linked to some safety concerns. Apparently, the battery packs in the CELSIUS H720, LIFEBOOK E752, E733, E743, E753, P702, P772, S710, S752, S762, T732, T734, and T902 notebooks are a potential hazard. More specifically, the batteries of the CP556150-03, CP579060-01, and CP629458-03 product numbers can actually overheat. This can lead to some serious injuries for consumers, so if you own such a model, you should probably take it back.
Just have a look at the white sticker on the battery itself, as that’s where you’ll find this information. However, it is worth noting that there has only been one incident where the battery actually caught fire. Fujitsu has sold 5,800 units in the United States and 606 units in Canada, so that’s a pretty low number. Still, recalling is definitely a good idea in order to prevent any more issues. If you own one of the aforementioned models, make sure to remove the battery right away and contact Fujitsu for a free replacement. Remember that you can still use your notebook without any issues by plugging it in.
