Remember last month when leaked photos from Beijing, China surfaced showing the upcoming Radeon RX Vega video card? It first appeared on the website ChipHell and showed what looked like hastily taken screenshots from a video presentation about AMD’s upcoming Radeon RX Vega series. Now VideoCardz.com has actually gotten hold of the actual video from the event which was a closed session attended by various AMD partners and media in Beijing.
It was an over the shoulder video but it showed enough of the features of the card including a monolithic enclosed design with a lighter silver or possibly white coloured shroud and an integrated backplate. The words “GPU tach” is printed on the side which could be an LED indicator above the power connectors for the GPU usage load. The caption on the video reads: “It’ got a brain, its got a soul, it is almost human.” and as the English speaker says in the room while the video is playing, that they have made sure to provide Radeon RX Vega with a high-end packaging, which showed several fancy LED effects in the beginning.
AMD has yet to announce any hard launch dates for the Radeon RX Vega video card, but rumours suggest it won’t arrive until sometime in 2H 2017.
