Full Details On The AMD RX 590 Graphics Card Revealed
So, despite very little in the way of a big announcement or promotion, AMD does look likely to formally announce the AMD RX 590 graphics card within the next few days. With it being a further update on the 480/580 style of card, consumers might not be expecting too much from the RX 590 and, in fairness, that’s probably a fair assessment. With every indication suggesting that this is just going to be one last dance for the Polaris architecture, there are limits as to how far this can go.
Well, in a report via Videocardz, we actually have the base specifications for the graphics card and, in truth, they’re not bad at all.
Specifications
The report confirmed that the RX 590 will use the Polaris 30 architecture and will be designed from as 12nm chipset. The more technical specifications that differ from the 580 include;
- 7.1 Tflops
- 1469MHz base clock
- 1545MHz boost clock
The card will continue to hold 8GB of GDDR5 memory and will retail for a price in the region of $279. Remember that the above is the ‘out of the door’ clock speeds, so expect slightly better performance when we see the models formally released by AMD’s partners. Early indications seem to confirm that benchmarking results show the card to be about 12% faster than the 580. In truth, that’s about what we expected.
At this stage, you might be wondering what purpose this card serves? Well, AMD is offering a promotion that makes this GPU exceptionally tempting for the price.
Three Free Games!
In partnership with the release, AMD will offer purchasers three, free games! These include the Resident Evil 2 remake, The Division 2 and Devil May Cry 5. In terms of games, even by PC standards, this represents at least $100 worth of purchases. You are, therefore, essentially getting the card for less than $200. A card that although might not be amazingly impressive in its performance or stats (at least compared to Nvidia) will be more than solid for a good while to come!
