Funky Adesso AKB-636 Typewriter Mechanical Keyboard Now Available!

It has been a long time since we first saw this keyboard in its prototype form, but it looks like it is finally ready for the public to enjoy! The AKB-636UB from Adesso may not have the swankiest product name ever, but this is something a little bit different from most of the keyboard designs on the market today thanks to its funky typewriter design.
It comes with a bit of silver trim around the edge of the low-profile chassis, as well as those rounded design typewriter design key caps. I’ve actually used one of these keyboards before and with Blue switches, they’re incredibly satisfying to type on, and the little bit of trim on each key cap gives them a nice finger resting position that really does throw back to the days of an electric typewriter design.
Don’t be fooled though, the keyboard is anything but retro in terms of hardware. It features a fully mechanical switch configuration, N-Key Rollover for up to 6 keys, built-in multimedia controls (Fn-Shift), and more.
